MT. SHASTA FAMILY NEEDS OUR SUPPORT AND PRAYERS

On August 22nd during a scrimmage in Mt. Shasta Senior Linebacker Corben Brooks was seriously
injured. Please click the link below for the full story.

There will be a fundraising Tri-Tip dinner at the Mount Shasta High School Football field on
Wednesday, September 3rd from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.  There will be raffles, silent auction items and
regular auction items.  Mt Shasta Boosters are selling raffle tickets for a truck load of wood and 200
gallons of home fuel.

If anyone would like to donate to this cause there is an account set up at Scott Valley Bank,
Corben Brooks fund, or donations can be sent to the Mt Shasta Boosters at PO Box 161 Mt
Shasta, CA 96067.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and positive thoughts.  This will be an on going journey for
this family. So far, he still has some paralysis, but there is hope for a recovery.

CORBEN BROOKS STORY, RECORD SEARCHLIGHT
YREKA CHARGERS HOSTED THE FOOTHILL JR. COUGARS

On Aug 30th the Div. 1 Foothill Jr. Cougars came to Yreka to play the Div. 2 Chargers. All the games played from Jr. Pee
Wees through the Midgets were all exciting games. Although the Jr. Cougars swept the Chargers all games were played
tough.

Pee Wees 24-20 Jr. Cougars
Jr. Midgets 14-12 Jr. Cougars
Midgets 8-32 Jr. Cougars

Throughout the day the Chargers were selling 50/50 raffle tickets and donating the proceeds to the Corben
Brooks fund. All of the winners of the raffle's returned their winnings to also be donated. $675.00 was raised and
will be donated to Corben Brooks. Thank you to all that purchased tickets and donated your winnings.
 
WE STILL NEED MIGHTY MITE PLAYERS

The Yreka Charger's Board of Directors has voted to start the Mighty Mite Football Team this season.
The Mighty Mites (Little Pee Wee's) are going to be the players that are 6 and 7 years old on
November 1st 2008 and weigh between 45-85 Lbs. If you have signed your child up as a Jr. Pee Wee
and he/she will be 7 on Nov. 1st you may request to move your child down to the Little Pee Wee's.
